Biodiversity Hotspots: Mesoamerica
Spanning most of Central America, the Mesoamerica Hotspot encompasses all subtropical and tropical ecosystems from central Mexico to the Panama Canal. The endemic species include quetzals, howler monkeys and 17,000 plant species.
