ABBYY (pronounce /ˈæbi/) is a software house based in Moscow, Russia. The company was founded in 1989 by David Yang. ABBYY had over 600 employees, as of November 2006, including offices in Russia (Moscow), the USA (Fremont, CA), Ukraine (Kiev), the UK (Bishops Stortford, England), Germany (Munich) and Japan (Tokyo).
