Acinetobacter baumannii is a species of pathogenic bacteria which forms opportunistic infections. There have been many reports of rug-resistant A. baumannii infections among American soldiers wounded in Iraq. These 'multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii' are often referred to as MDRAB.
