The Ackee, Vegetable Brain, Achee, Akee Apple or Akee (Blighia sapida) is a member of the Sapindaceae (soapberry family), native to tropical West Africa in Cameroon, Gabon, S\303\243o Tom\303\251 and Pr\303\255ncipe, Benin, Burkina Faso, C\303\264te d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. The Ackee has been introduced to Jamaica.
