aKio is a Canadian electronic rock band that was formed in Montreal, Quebec circa 2003 by Kim Gaboury. As its main composer, producer and instrumentalist, Gaboury is the only official member of aKido and remains solely responsible for the musical direction of the band. While mainly instrumental, the voice of his girlfriend Joyce Vallus appears on many aKido songs. Gaboury assembles a live band to tour with; this live component is generally considered a separate entity from aKido in the recording studio.
