Dr. Alexaner Lowen (born December 23, 1910) is an American psychotherapist. A student of Wilhelm Reich's in the 1940s and early 1950s in New York, he developed the mind-body psychotherapy, a form of body psychotherapy known as Bioenergetic Analysis with his then-colleague, John Pierrakos. Lowen is also the founder and former executive director of the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis in New York City.
