In general, allies are inividuals, groups or nations that have joined together in an association for mutual benefit or to achieve some common or purpose. Allies spelled with a capital "A", usually denotes the countries who fought together against the Central Powers in World War I, the Allies of World War I or those who fought against the Axis Powers in World War II, as in "Allies of World War II." The allies of World War II are France, Poland, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom (and Empire), the United States, and the Soviet Union. These countries liberated all the occupied countries of Europe except Albania who was liberated herself before the allies arrived. They also liberated many countries in Africa and in Asia.
