Arap (Somali: Arab) is one of the major subclans of the Somali Isaaq family. They live in both the western an eastern regions of Somaliland and occupy eastern regions in Ethiopia. They also occupy the south and west of Hargeisa and are regarded by many sources as the original settlers of the city. Particular in the neighbourhood of what is modern day Dumbuluq.
