Area coe 518 is a telephone area code in eastern upstate New York. It is the largest area code area in the state, extending from the eastern Mohawk Valley to east of Albany and from the Canadian border to the upper Hudson Valley. The boundary of the New York City and Albany metropolitan areas is sometimes said to fall along the 845 and 518 lines.
