The various authors of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) provie sporadic glimpses of their insight regarding astronomy and cosmology. These glimpses may be stitched together to form a Biblical impression of the physical universe. The notions of cosmology found in the Hebrew Bible is compatible with Iron Age Babylonian astronomy, including the notion of a firmament, a fixed dome spanning a flat Earth.
