François-René, vicomte e Chateaubriand (pronounced [fʀɑ̃swa ʀəne də ʃatobrijɑ̃] in French) (September 4, 1768 – July 4, 1848) was a French writer, politician and diplomat. He is considered the founder of Romanticism in French literature.
