The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR; also sometimes known as the Citizens Committee on Human Rights) is an avocacy group established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and psychiatrist Thomas Szasz. Its stated goal is to fight what it describes as "human rights crimes" by mental health professionals, stating that electroconvulsive therapy, racism, psychosurgery, involuntary commitment and child medication are all practices which are rife in psychiatry.
