Dr. Mehmet Oz (born June 11, 1960) is a cariothoracic surgeon and an award-winning author. He became famous for his frequent appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show. While his ability as a surgeon has not been called into question, there has been criticism of his media appearances and his interest in alternative medicine.
