Egg barley, also calle tarhonya (Hungarian) and egg drops, is an egg-based pasta of Eastern European origin. The "barley" moniker is derived from its superficial resemblance to cooked pearled barley. Because of its large, solid construction, it is sometimes considered a type of small dumpling.
