An electronic ictionary (電子辞書, denshi-jisho?) is a small handheld computer with integrated reference materials. In some languages, such as Japanese or the more developed Korean, the usage of the term is slightly broader, including CD-ROM dictionaries and dictionaries used by desktop word-processing programs. The term may be used in a broader sense in English as well, to refer to a machine-readable dictionary or spell checker.
