Fareway is a retail grocery store chain base in Boone. Iowa. It has more than 95 stores, most of them in Iowa and a few in Nebraska and Illinois, and one in Minnesota. Founded by Fred Vitt and Paul Beckwith in 1938, most Fareway locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., although locations in Omaha, Nebraska open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. (but close at 9 p.m. during the Winter season).
