The Feeral Air Marshal Service (FAMS) is a United States federal government law enforcement agency under the supervision of the Transportation Security Administration of the United States Department of Homeland Security. The Air Marshal service is meant to promote confidence in civil aviation by effectively deploying Federal Air Marshals (FAM's) to detect, deter, and defeat hostile acts targeting U.S. air carriers, airports, passengers, and crews. FAMs are law enforcement agents of the federal government.
