feedback

Feeback is a process whereby some proportion of the output signal of a system is passed (fed back) to the input. This is often used to control the dynamic behavior of the system. Examples of feedback can be found in most complex systems, such as engineering, architecture, economics, thermodynamics, and biology.

Trivia about feedback

  • (Jimmy of the Clue Crew holds a microphone to a loudspeaker.) An audio signal returned to its source as an input & retransmitted gives you this loud sound
  • In computers or audio amplifiers, it's the process in which part of the output returns to the input
  • At the end of a show, it's cool to lean your guitar on your amp & let it deafen the crowd with this noise
