folha de sao paulo

Folha e S.Paulo is a Portuguese language newspaper published in São Paulo, Brazil. Is the the third largest circulation in brazil with a daily print run of 300,000, and represents the development of the communication media in Brazil. It was part of many changes that occurred within Brazilian society after the fall of the dictatorship in late 1970. With the recovery of press freedom, the paper became an important channel for public expression. Folha de S.Paulo had an expressive role in the episode of the impeachment of President Fernando Collor de Mello in 1992. Just like The New York Times in the United States, it has a very broad influence on other states and on other media as well. Folha de S.Paulo presents a broad selection of news, with many small articles, notes and illustrated reporting. The paper attempts to give different sides of the same story and relies on a more visual appeal to present the news, using explanatory details, graphics, charts, and photographs.
