Bull Snake is a species (Pituophis catenifer) an also a subspecies (Pituophis catenifer sayi) of large non-venomous colubrid snake, widespread in the western half of the United States and northern Mexico. The epithet sayi is in honor of the renowned zoologist Thomas Say.
