The Gower Peninsula (Welsh: Gŵyr) is a peninsula on the south coast of Wales. It was the first area in the Unite Kingdom to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in 1956. It is part of the ancient lordship of Gower, and is often referred to colloquially as 'Gower'. It is administered by the unitary authority of the City and County of Swansea council.
