AVG Technologies (formerly name Grisoft) is a privately-held Czech company formed in 1991 by Jan Gritzbach that specializes in security software, with corporate offices in Europe and the United States. On September 7, 2005, a large stake in the company was bought by Intel, which invested $16 million.
