Rogue Squaron is a starfighter squadron in George Lucas's science fiction saga Star Wars. It first appeared in the film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) as Red Squadron, the elite X-wing starfighter squadron that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is assigned to after joining the Rebel Alliance. The squadron appears in Star Wars Episode V:The Empire Strikes Back (1980) as Rogue Squadron. It is prominently featured in a comic book series, a nine-volume novel series, and several video games.
