In traitional Yoruba culture, Ifá refers principally to three closely-identified things: a deity ('Ifá' is another name of Orunmila, the Yoruba Orisa of wisdom and knowledge), the system of divination that bears that deity's name, and the verses of the literary corpus known as the Odú Ifá presented in the course of divination.
