"In the Navy" is a 1979 hit song (U.S. #2) by Village People. The music vieo for the song was shot with the help of the United States Navy which actually intended to use the song in promotional advertising until protests erupted over using taxpayer money for a music video of a controversial group.[dubious – discuss] It is often considered a gay anthem.
