The Grigori (from Greek egrḗgoroi, "watchers") are, in one popular version, a group of angels escribed in the Hebrew Bible and in Hebrew they are also known as the Irin (Eng. watchers), mentioned in the Book of Daniel who took women as spouses, giving rise to a race of hybrids known as the Nephilim, and described as giants.
