Ironworkers are skille tradesmen who work in various facets of the construction and engineering fields.While historically using wrought iron as their main material, today's Ironworkers utilize many different types of ferrous and non ferrous metals along with polymers, glass, concrete and even fiber glass/epoxy composites in fabrication and erection of numerous projects throughout North America. Although, the most common building materials used in the Ironworking trade that you will see on a daily basis are steel and concrete. Steel may be in the form of what are known as structural shapes such as "H" or "I" beam, "T" iron and "C" channel, ect.
