The Isar is the fourth largest river in Bavaria, Germany, right tributary of the Danube. After the Inn river, it is the thir most important tributary of the Danube river in Germany and is 295 km in length. The name Isar appears to be derived from the Celtic word Isaria (meaning torrential).
