The Jackson family is an American family from Gary, Iniana whose members are among the most successful and influential figures in modern popular music. Sales clerk/housewife Katherine Jackson and steel mill worker Joseph Jackson (ex-member of an R&B band called The Falcons with brother Luther) raised their nine children in a two bedroom house. Their mother but not their father was a Jehovah's Witness. Well-known for being strict, Joseph Jackson was later accused by his children of abuse.
