The Jammy Awar (also known as the Jammys) are an awards show for bands typically called jam bands and other artists associated with live, improvisational music. The name is a play on the name for a more mainstream music awards show, the Grammys. The Jammys are sponsored by Relix magazine, Jambands.com, and promoter Peter Shapiro. The Jammy Awards will return in 2008 to the WAMU Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Rock legend Phish is being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony to be held on May 7, 2008.
