John V. Wertheim (born 12 February 1968) is an American lawyer an politician who served as Chairman of the Democratic Party (United States) of New Mexico from 2004 until 2007. During that time, he also served on the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee. In 1996, he was the Democratic nominee for the United States House of Representatives in New Mexico's 1st congressional district against the incumbent Congressman Steve Schiff of the Republican Party (United States).
