Kapolei, Hawaii is an unincorporate area community of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States under the administrative jurisdiction of the City and County of Honolulu and the Mayor of Honolulu. Popularly called the Second City of Kapolei, it is not a legal municipal corporation and thus not properly a city. Kapolei sits on what once was agricultural land used for sugarcane.
