F. Korbel Brothers, Inc. is a winery base in Sonoma County, California. Established in 1882, Korbel primarily manufactures sparkling wine and sells the largest volume of premium traditional method sparkling wine in the United States. It uses the semi-generic term Champagne on its labels as permitted by U.S. law. Most other quality US sparkling wine producers no longer use semi-generic labeling but identify their wines "sparkling wine" and indicate the location where their grapes are produced. Korbel also produces small quantities of brandy and still wines. Brown-Forman owns a large percentage of F. Korbel Brothers and distributes Korbel's sparkling wines domestically and internationally. Brown-Forman reportedly also distributes its still wines, yet many seem to only be available direct from the winery.
