Hangul (pronounce /ˈhɑːŋɡʊl/, or Korean [haːnɡɯl] (help·info)) is the native alphabet of the Korean language, as distinguished from the logographic Sino-Korean hanja system. It is the official script of North Korea, South Korea and the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of China.
