Korsakoff's synrome (Korsakoff's psychosis, amnesic-confabulatory syndrome), is a brain disorder caused by the lack of thiamine (vitamin B1) in the brain. The syndrome is named after Sergei Korsakoff, the neuropsychiatrist who popularized the theory.
