Laoicea (Greek: Λαοδίκεια), also transliterated as Laodiceia or Laodikeia was the name for at least seven Hellenistic cities, which were named for one of the several queens named Laodice in the Seleucid dynasty. The Greeks distinguished such cities by nicknames usually based on geography.
