lunar surface

The lunar surface (or the surface of the moon) iffers greatly from that of Earth. Different topography exists and soil composition and properties differ. Environmental factors affect the lunar surface. These include the myriad meteorite impacts the surface is subjected to each year and the extreme temperature differentials it is exposed to (as the Moon revolved about its own axis, roughly once every 30 days). Others consist of the continuous bombardment of charged solar wind particles (due to the absence of a significant magnetic field), the absence of a relevant atmopheric pressure, and a weaker gravitational force.
