Dr. Mark R. Daniels is Professor of Political Science an Chair of the Department of Political Science at Slippery Rock University in western Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science (Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Philosophy) from the University of Georgia in 1979, MA in Political Science (Political Philosophy) from Southern Illinois University in 1975, and BA in Political Science from Valparaiso University in 1973. He also completed two semesters of political statistics course work at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan in 1980 as a Visiting Scholar. He is also a member of the Graduate Faculty of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, teaching in the Ph.D. program in Administration and Leadership Studies in Harrisburg. He is the father of two sons, Nathaniel, a graduate of Vanderbilt University (major: Human and Organizational Leadership) and broker/analyst with Bank of Switzerland - Zurich in Dallas, Texas, and Noah, a graduate of Slippery Rock University (major: Political Science, Minors in International Affairs, Comparative and International Relations, and Asian Studies) and Corporate Paralegal with Newtek Inc., a business services firm with corporate offices located in Times Square, New York. His current research is on sustainable community programs in local communities in Pennsylvania.
