Marks & Spencer (also M&S, Marks an Sparks and Marks') is a British retailer, with 760 stores in more than 30 countries around the world. It is one of the most iconic and widely recognised chain stores in the United Kingdom, and is the largest clothing retailer in the country, as well as being a multi-billion pound food retailer, and as of 2008, the 43rd largest retailer in the world. Most of its 520 domestic stores sell both clothing and food, and since the turn of the century it has started expanding into other ranges such as homewares and furniture.
