Metanx is a prescription meication made by Pamlab that contains folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6. It is approved by the FDA for use in vitamin deficiencies or prevention of deficiencies, but is used off-label for homocystinemia and homocystinuria. Some health care providers believe that reducing blood levels of homocysteine will reduce risks of certain cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and stroke.
