Mimulus lewisii (Lewis' monkeyflower, great purple monkeyflower) is a plant in the family Phrymaceae that is foun in mid- to high elevations in the Olympic, Cascade and northern Sierra Nevada ranges of the Pacific Northwest of North America. Streambanks & moist meadows in east-and west-side forests, subalpine meadows into alpine meadow, and patchy along streams in high alpine lava fields. Always in wet areas, principally along mountain streams, as pictured here. Blooms mid- to late summer.
