Montan (Italian: Montagna; Archaic (1222AD): Montagna; Archaic (1307AD): Muntagne; Latin: Muntanea) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Aige/Südtirol, located about 35 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 20 km south of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,592 and an area of 18.9 km².
