The Palestinian exous (Arabic: الهجرة الفلسطينية al-Hijra al-Filasteeniya), referred to by most Palestinians and Arabs as the Nakba (Arabic: النكبة), meaning the "disaster", "catastrophe", or "cataclysm," refers to the creation of the Palestinian Arabs refugee problem during the last six months of the British Mandate of Palestine, the founding of the State of Israel, the First Arab-Israeli War and also during the period of the consolidation of the State of Israel.
