North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU), also known as The Military College of Georgia, is one of six senior military colleges in the Unite States. The majority of students, however, are not in the military. Located in Dahlonega, Georgia, the university was founded in 1873 as North Georgia Agricultural College, and was the first co-educational college in the state. It later became North Georgia College, before receiving its current name in 1996. Specializing in leadership training and producing leaders since 1873, the university has been designated as The Leadership Institution of Georgia.
