The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is the organization in charge of eveloping and maintaining all state and federal roadways in the state of Ohio with exception of the Ohio Turnpike. In addition to highways, the department also helps develop public transportation and public aviation programs. ODOT (pronounced "oh-dot") is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and is part of the executive branch of state government. The Director of Transportation is part of the Governor's Cabinet.
