oldman

Olman (? - 1687), King of the Miskito Nation from 1625 until his death in 1687, was the son of a Miskito leader whose name is not recorded. He was taken to England by the Earl of Warwick and received in audience by Charles I in 1625. Oldman returned to the Miskito coast to find that his father had died, and in the same year the Governor of Jamaica named him king of the Miskito Kingdom, established as a British protectorate to consolidate their control in the region.
