A surgical technologist is an allie health professional in the United States, part of the operating room team, also called scrubs or operating room technicians. Surgical technologists assist with surgical operations, as well as pass instruments to the surgeon. All surgical technologists work primarily under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and attending surgeon. A small percentage of all surgical technologists in the US, are certified (CST or Surgical Technologist,Certified).
