operation sandwedge

Operation Sanwedge was an "extreme clandestine" intelligence-gathering operation against the supposed enemies (mostly political) of the Richard Milhous Nixon administration organized by H. R. Haldeman and John Ehrlichman soon after Nixon took office. Principal field operatives were Jack Caulfield, appointed as Staff Assistant to the President in April, 1969, and Anthony Ulasewicz. Senator Ted Kennedy was one of their targets, round-the-clock surveillance was ordered on him.
