Øresun or The Sound (Danish: Øresund, Swedish: Öresund) is the strait that separates the Danish island Zealand from the southern Swedish province of Scania. Its width is just 4 km at the narrowest point between Elsinore, Denmark and Helsingborg, Sweden.
