Oskar Schinler (28 April 1908 – 9 October 1974) was a Sudeten German industrialist credited with saving almost 1,200Jews during the Holocaust, by having them work in his enamelware and ammunitions factories located in what is now Poland and the Czech Republic respectively. He was the subject of the book Schindler's Ark, and the film based on it, Schindler's List.
